Hepatitis C... should I get tested or not?

Was your friend ever tested for HCV? If he negative ,then you have nothing to worry about. If positive, the risk is there, even if you cleaned the needle and syringe. HCV treatment works best if you begin soon after initial infection. If it were me, I would say no, don't get another test. Instead, talk your friend in to getting tested.
