Is it true if you let mosquitoes completely finish biting you the bite won't itch after?

I was told that mosquitoes inject their saliva into us, if we interrupt the process and swat or kill them before they are done the saliva remains in us and the bite will itch but if we let them do "their thing" the bite won't itch afterwords, is that true? please give a source of information if applicable
