So my friend (its not me its an actual friend) recently told me something and i have no idea how to respond.?

my guy friend told me that hiss mom is a drugie and a prostitute and he used to live with his aunt and she verbally (im not sure about physically) abusd him day and night. and his older brother (22) is a pedofile and so now he lives with his cousin so he has to get a job because he has to buy his own food . . . hes 14 . im not sure how to respond . . and he refuses to get professional help . . he hates sympothy and doesnt want me to feel bad for him. soo what do i say ? how do i respond ? i just told him hes a strong person and thats all i dont know what to say .. . . helpp !
