It's my body. Why don't I legally have the choice to smoke, snort or inject whatever I want into it?

Because unless you are willing to pay the hefty medical bill, you need to stfu. It maybe your body but your're using everybody's money to pay when you get sick, get cancer or have an over dose etc. To be free also means to be responsible.
